Today Ofqual has published the Extended Extraordinary Regulatory Framework (EERF) for vocational qualifications for 2020-21. CCEA Regulation is aligning to this framework for regulation of assessment and awarding arrangements for vocational qualifications for 2020-21, in addition to the CCEA Regulation General Conditions of Recognition.
This summer has been extraordinary for everyone involved in awarding vocational and technical qualifications. It has been an anxious time for learners and has involved a huge amount of hard work for centres and awarding organisations (AOs). Everyone in the sector has worked collaboratively to issue valid and reliable VQ results to learners in order for them to progress onto the next stage of their education or into work. It is a significant achievement that many certificates were issued for many different qualifications.
Following Ofqual’s initial consultation on the approach to delivery and assessment of qualifications for 2020-21, a follow up consultation has been launched on the 7th September including seeking views on statutory guidance on adaptation to assessment.
On 3 August, Ofqual launched a consultation on the arrangements for the assessment and awarding of Vocational and Technical Qualifications (VTQS) in 2020/21.
Today CCEA Regulation published its Extraordinary Regulatory Framework for General Qualifications: Conditions and Requirements.

CCEA Regulation has today, Tuesday 23 June 2020, published its key decisions regarding the principles upon which an alternative appeals process for the Summer 2020 GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications should be developed by CCEA awarding organisation (AO). Decisions taken were informed by the outcomes and analysis of a recent two week public consultation on the issue.
